Oklahoma Pre-Engineering Education

Oklahoma CareerTech Pre-Engineering Education is designed to introduce high school students to engineering careers, help them understand what the careers offer and prepare them for college.  The program combines higher-level math and science courses with a sequence of engineering courses to better prepare students for college.   


Pre-engineering is offered in several technology centers throughout the state in partnership with high schools and colleges.  The technology center setting offers students the labs, equipment and opportunity to interface with technicians and craftspeople, which they will encounter in their future world of work.      

The pre-engineering course curriculum is provided by Project Lead the Way (PLTW), a national non-profit organization.  Courses include:
